Festival CINERGIE is established in Saskatoon since 2006. Each year, for four days in May, we present a selection of the best recent French-speaking Canadian and international short films and feature length films, with English subtitles. We aim to present the diverse realities of francophone cultures from around the world, in a celebration of the French language and our rich storytelling.

The CINERGIE team knows the importance of seeing yourself represented on the BIG screen: we make it a point to showcase films centering the voices of Black, Indigenous, People of colour, 2S/LGBTQIA+ and minority communities. We include films for all ages and audiences, with subtitles for persons that are hard of hearing and/or non-French speakers. We offer complimentary tickets to those experiencing financial barriers. The venue is accessible for persons with reduced mobility.

Le trésor du pharaon Khéops a-t-il été découvert pendant la campagne d’Égypte de Napoléon, ramené en France, puis caché à Paris ? Christian Robinson, archéologue flamboyant aux méthodes peu orthodoxes, en est persuadé, depuis la découverte d’une mystérieuse inscription lors de nouvelles fouilles au Caire. Bien décidé à déchiffrer les indices laissés par Dominique Vivant Denon, le premier directeur du Louvre, Christian Robinson se lance alors dans une quête du trésor hors du commun à travers Paris, des archives poussiéreuses du Louvre jusqu’aux cabinets secrets de la Malmaison. Il embarque dans son aventure sa fille et son petit-fils, dans l’espoir insensé de réaliser à Paris la plus grande découverte archéologique du XXIe siècle…

[1/3] Elli et l'équipe des monstres - Le 14 avril 2026: 2-4e années
Quand Elli, un petit fantôme sans-abri, frappe à la porte des résidents excentriques d'un manège hanté à la recherche d'un toit, elle attire accidentellement l'attention du « monde extérieur » et doit faire équipe avec un groupe hétéroclite de monstres dans une quête folle pour sauver non seulement tous les monstres et tous les humains, mais aussi sa seule chance d'avoir enfin une famille à elle. Même un fantôme a besoin de quelqu'un à aimer! Peu importe qui nous sommes et d'où nous venons, la famille constituée d'amis ou de parents est souvent celle qui forge notre vie et notre coeur.

🎬 The Festival CINERGIE and the Fédération des Francophones de Saskatoon are proud to support the distribution of Älva Jouband-Uusitalo's independent Fransaskois short film, created without professional assistance or funding, titled Tulomatka: The Way Home (2025, Canada, Sweden, 14 min). 💙
This Franco-Swedish film, which explores the author's reconnection with their Lantalainen culture (an ethnic minority in Sweden), was selected for the short film competition at the CINÉMENTAL Francophone Film Festival in Winnipeg, and aims to serve as an educational tool within the Fransaskois community and schools.
The short film is available for free with French and English subtitles on YouTube, and Älva offers educational presentations and Q&A sessions around their short film for schools and communities.
